The Resource Scout | Financial Literacy Month | April 22, 2021

Financial Literacy Month may be coming to a close. However, our mission is to inspire, motivate, and support others. I recommend getting familiar with laws that protect consumers and learning to use credit responsibly. These tools can help you build a strong financial foundation.

Additional information is available on Rise to Wellth.

Financial Literacy

Here are a few definitions. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) oversees financial products for consumers. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) ensures accurate credit reports, while the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) regulates credit repair companies.

Enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, the CROA prohibits false claims and upfront fees. Consumers have rights to contracts, cancellations, cost details, and legal action for breaches.
